Homemade Traditional Rice Dumpling(Bak Chang) 古早味咸肉粽

Bakchang or Zong Zi is glutinous rice dumpling stuffed with the different fillings like pork belly,chestnut,dried shrimp,salted egg york,peas or dried shredded squid,wrapped with the bamboo leaves.They are then cooked by boiling in the water.It is a practice of eating Bak Chang during the Chinese Dumpling Festival which falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month,it is called Double Fifth Festival.

This heritage food is well acclaimed across the Malaysian and Singaporean Chinese community.It is nowadays a common food that can be enjoyed anytime.
